Go to the CALM. event at Lab11
Friday 17th March, 9:30pm - 3am
Lab11, Trent Street, B5 5NL
If CALM. is a new name to you, expect a multi-sensory rave experience at the intersection of experimental sound, live performance and design.
These nights have become a phenomenon amongst the city’s rave-goers, with everyone who is anyone in the local scene always in attendance.
In their Serve Chilled series, CALM. collaborate with pioneering artists on their radar, with Friday playing host to Soulection’s Jael, Taylah Elaine and Brum’s own Billy Green and Izeforshort all bringing the very best in Amapiano, Electronic, Experimental, House and UK Garage.
This is no average night out. Turn up for an experience you’ll remember, and most likely want to re-live at the next event!

Grosvenor House on Bennett’s Hill, taken by Nayson.
There’s such a compelling texture to this Brutalist design, standing elegantly here in October 2022. The Grade II listed building melts into a rare ray of sunlight on what was clearly another grey day in Brum!

Explore the development of Corporation Street across the last two centuries
There are a variety of Victorian buildings left in Birmingham still standing proudly amongst the rapidly growing array of modern structures. In its prime, Corporation Street was awash with grand Victorian architecture playing host to many a successful business.
This Twitter thread explores the changes that have occurred on what was once an iconic street. Now without much of the grandeur of its hey day, I found it poignant looking back at how luxurious and fancy Brum used to look!
