As we've shifted into an age where all images seem temporary, it becomes more important to preserve Birmingham’s history. Artist Adam Neal did just this during his Grand Union residency a few years back, with these images of food signage from The Arena Cafe, formerly located inside the 1960s Bullring.

I can’t say these meals look particularly appetising; I’m sure the reality was much better! Anyone hungry? 😅

Discover the world of the Birmingham Superprix via this podcast

The Birmingham Superprix was a motor racing meeting held in the streets of Birmingham between 1986 and 1990. It’s kind of a big deal too; The Birmingham Superprix Project has been archiving the history of the races through photo, film, events and collaborations since 2015!

We're a huge fan of this podcast they released a few years ago that offers intriguing discussions with racing drivers, commentators and motorsports journalists, all packed into seven 30 minute episodes.

A captivating listen for both sports & non-sports fans; this event was a cultural landmark for Birmingham and we’re so glad it’s being immortalised through media like this. Imagine shutting down the Bristol road for a similar event now - chaos!
