See Hamlet performed on screen at The Electric Cinema
Thursday 6th April, 7:30pm
The Electric Cinema, 47-49 Station Street, B5 4DY
Whether you’ve seen Hamlet before or are yet to experience Shakespeare's seminal tragedy for yourself, we highly recommend visiting the U.K.'s oldest working cinema this Thursday. The Electric plays host to the Bristol Old Vic as they make their on screen debut in what has been described as ‘taut, claustrophobic and visually stunning’ by critics.
Filmed in 4K, in front of a live audience with an exclusive new Q&A featuring director John Haidar, the magic of live theatre is within reach, even if Bristol is not. Support our local independents and enjoy a classic!

Watch Jonathan Meades' film about Birmingham
Birmingham has come a long way since these stereotypes from the late 90s, and hopefully far enough to the point we can laugh at them as they’re presented in quick-witted fashion by conceptual filmmaker Jonathan Meades in this BBC published film from 1998.
A short film that certainly reflects the time it was from, Meades is mischievous in his analysis but (in part) truthfully funny. A light hearted reminder to not take ourselves too seriously!
